When we say we are affirming, we mean it.
To that end, we've tried to make our official welcome statement crystal clear:
"We affirm that all people are created in the image of God, and as children of God, each of us is worthy of God's grace and love. We strive to live the love of Christ through our worship of God and service to all. We believe the Kingdom of God includes people of all races, ethnicities, national origins, gender identities, sexual orientations, ages, social and economic statuses, mental and physical abilities, and those with and without homes."
We are a member of the Reconciling Ministries Network, which mobilizes United Methodists to transform our church and world into the full expression of Christ's inclusive love. Currently, the network consists of more than 700 communities and 34,000 people.
In addition to simply offering a safe space for all people to worship and to belong, you'll find us supporting the North Carolina HRC Gala, marching in the Pride parade, hosting a booth at the Pride festival, and just generally raising our voices in support of equal treatment and opportunity for all people.
