Children were important to Jesus. They are to us, as well. We offer a 5-star child development center, and we partner with First Ward Creative Arts Academy to provide support to students and teachers.

First Ward Creative Arts Academy Partnership
Since 2002, we have been in partnership with First Ward Creative Arts Academy of Charlotte, supporting students and staff. At quarterly ice cream parties, church members serve ice cream to celebrate students' achievements. We maintain an emergency clothing closet and provide lunch buddies and tutors for students. In August, we host a breakfast for staff and teachers to kick off the new school year. For more information, contact Phyllis Johnson.

First United Methodist Child Development Center
We are a 5-Star facility in uptown Charlotte, licensed by the state of North Carolina, providing a full day program for working parents of children in our community.  Visit the CDC website here. Our staff members are degreed and have the knowledge and experience necessary to offer age appropriate activities and skills to the children in our care. Our school is diverse, with children from approximately 12 countries, and with 5-10% having tuition subsidized by the state.
